Let Freedom Ring!!!!

On these hot summer days I can remember the days of old. When as a child growing up in the outskirts of a small town on 8 acres, I would spend my days playing and playing hard. Yes, my mother and father may have had a thing or two for me to do, but then I would play and play some more.

As I played, I felt secure and at peace, knowing that if any need arose my mother was in the house, food was available, a bed was clean and ready if I needed rest. There were little responsibilities. I was free to come and go in my little world and play until my heart was content.

I am not sure that I have ever been that free since childhood. I now have a job, responsibilities, bills to pay and things that have to be done.

Freedom is a special gift and as a child of God I can experience a special type of freedom. Romans 8:2 states we are "free from the law of sin and death."

That is something to celebrate everyday, and not just once a year. Therefore, this July, do not only celebrate the Freedom as an American on the 4th, but also remember to celebrate the Freedom in Christ each day.
