Fear

The theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer wrote the following:

In me there is darkness, but with You there is light;
I am lonely, but You do not leave me;
I am feeble in heart, but with You there is help;
I am restless, but with You there is peace.

The darkness, loneliness, restlessness, etc, seem to be the common trends within the majority of us. These creators of fear seem to be growing worldwide and even within our own communities and homes. We cannot help but wonder what is going to happen next. What will be the next Headline or Alert? What will be the next trend that shakes our code values that have declined so much already? What will be the next shocking event that will cause our fears to escalate?

Fear is powerful and damaging.

As Christians it may be advantageous to focus on the news and current events just a bit less and spend a few more minutes reviewing the Word of God. Remembering that He is the Light in the midst of darkness. He is the source of Strength and Peace in the midst of fear.

Psalms 91:2 states "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."

Share the strength and not the fear. Tell of the peace and not the terror. Spread the light in the darkness.

FOCUS ON HIM AND NOT THE FEAR!
