Pastor's Message

Just around the corner is Christmas, and once again we will be giving our attention to two things. First, we will be involved in the celebration of Jesus' birth. Secondly, we will enjoy an increased amount of fellowship with family and friends.

While celebrating the birth of Jesus is very important to our faith and traditions, Christian fellowship is also important.

I John 3:14 states: "We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers." Christian fellowship is not to be a mere surface relationship. It is to be a binding, loving relationship that is meaningful especially as the battles of life are fought and burdens are borne.

Galatians 6:10 states: "Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." Christian fellowship is not a "Sunday Only" type of kinship. In a healthy, strong family the members are motivated and enriched by each other in all things.

John 14:3 states: "...if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me..." The spirit of the family and the endless love for each other is but a taste of heaven. The warmth and love within the family fellowship is continuous and eternal.

Therefore as we rush about in this busy season of Christmas, pray that we will remember to importance of healthy, fellowship with both Jesus and our brothers and sisters in Christ. All of the other "things" really are secondary!

In His Service with YOU!

Gene
