Pastor's Message
- Reboot -Have you ever had to reboot your computer? If you have any kind of computer I would imagine that rebooting is an unhappy experience that you have had to endure more then once. From what I understand with a very limited knowledge of computers, when you reboot your computer you are starting over. It seems to me that if you reboot, your more then refreshing the page, instead you're going back to the beginning. From time to time in the Christian life most of us need to reboot. In the past we would sing the old Hymn "Revive me again". Maybe today we could changes the words a bit and simply say, "Reboot me again." Maybe our prayer would be that God would help us to go back to our beginnings and remember how our life without Him was and how we were when we first came to the realization that, He, the King of Kings, Master of everything loves, cares and wants to be a part of our lives. David, a man after Gods own heart once wrote, "Create in me a new heart". He already had an own going relationship with God, but it had been tarnished with sinful acts. David's relationship had lost its joy and excitement, which he wanted to experience again. I think in many ways David was saying, "Reboot my heart". When we pause and go back to our beginnings with Christ we often are blessed with a renewed energy to communicate with Him and walk closer to Him. May I challenge you to stop for just a moment and ask your God to "Reboot" your spiritual system. Visit Gods house soon - it may help in the "Rebooting." Gene - September 2006 Message |
